Damian Cudlin will join former World Endurance Champions, Monster Yamaha Austria Racing Team (YART) for the opening round of the Endurance World Championship, the LeMans 24hour in France next week.
The experienced Australian will take on the role of 4th rider at LeMans alongside Ivan Silva, Sheridan Morias and IDM teammate Max Neukirchner.
Having recently completed a successful testing schedule on Yamaha’s new R1, Cudlin is eager to add Endurance World Championship duties to his existing IDM Superbike commitments with MGM Yamaha.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Monster YART at LeMans and I’m thankful for the opportunity. We have some history together already- we finished 3rd in the Endurance World Championship in 2007, so I know the team well.” Cudlin explained.
Having a factory contract with Yamaha already, the 3 time World Endurance Vice-Champion will be utilised by the Factory supported teams should he be required for the race.
“Endurance has been a big part of my career and I’ve enjoyed success there in the past, so I’m looking forward to getting back to work in my new role at Monster YART. Obviously, being a 4th rider means I’ll be there as support more than anything else, but I’ll definitely be fit and ready should they need me for the race. I hope this gives me the chance to work with them full-time in the future.”
The 2015 Endurance World Championship will kick off at LeMans in France on the 18th/19th April.
